Congratulations to Dr Naoko Mochizuki who was presented the highly competitive and prestigious AARE Ray Debus Award for Doctoral Research in Education 2018, for the outstanding thesis 'Genre learning through oral interactions: A case study of students' thesis writing in group conferences from sociocultural perspectives' completed at The University of New South Wales. Congratulations also to Dr Naoko's supervisors Prof Sue Starfield and Prof Anne Burns.

This award recognises excellence in educational research by doctoral students. Normally only one award will be made each year. It is seen by the Australian Association for Research in Education as a way of recognising the high-quality contribution made to educational knowledge by graduate students, and at the same time promoting dissemination of research.
