Ignite the Spark: Fuel the Fire - Differentiating Assessment 2018

When:6 Apr 2018, 8:45am - 4pm
Venue:CLB Building UNSW Sydney

Ignite the Spark, Fuel the Fire: Differentiating Assessment is another exciting partnership between the University of New South Wales and the NSW Department of Education, building on the very successful Innovative Differentiation conference in February 2017. The Ignite the Spark, Fuel the Fire: Differentiating Assessment conference, now fourth in the series, will focus on ideas and practical ways to differentiate assessment, in the context of the classroom, whole school and community of schools, as required by the NSW syllabuses for the Australian Curriculum.

This one day conference will continue to showcase innovative, quality examples and strategies for differentiated teaching, to empower teachers to cater for the diversity of their students. Workshops and presentations will include sharing by experts and researchers, primary and secondary schools and NSW Department of Education Advisors, making this conference an essential professional development experience on which to build classroom practice.

We are honoured to have two excellent keynote speakers, Dr Jae Yup Jared Jung, Senior Lecturer, School of Education at the University of NSW, and Dr Manoj Chandra Handa, Principal Education Officer, School Services Directorate at the NSW Department of Education. They will share their ideas and research about differentiated assessment. Another special feature is a Leaders Panel, with leaders from a variety of schools, both Sydney metropolitan and other areas of NSW.

Attendance at this one-day conference will contribute 6 QTC registered hours of professional development addressing Standards 2.3.4, 5.1.4, 6.3.4 for teachers towards maintaining Lead Teacher Accreditation in NSW. These hours can also be used to contribute to the total hours for those who are working at Proficient and Highly Accomplished levels.
