Recent Events

P. Ayres, S. Kalyuga, and J. Sweller were members of the Organizing Committee of the annual International Conference on Cognitive Load Theory which was first conducted at the UNSW in 2007. The following conferences were conducted around the world: 2008 - Wollongong, Australia; 2009 –Heerlen, the Netherlands; 2010 – Hong Kong; 2012 – Tallahassee, USA; 2013 – Toulouse, France, 2014 – Taipei, Taiwan, 2015 – Fort Collins, USA).

In 2014, the International Cognitive Load Theory Association was established (http://www.iclta.net ) with Ayres, Kalyuga, and Sweller among founding members.

In 2015, members of the motivation and engagement team have been active at American Educational Research Association Annual Meeting in Chicago, the National University of Singapore Invited Conference on educational resilience in Asia, and have forthcoming involvement at the European Association for Learning and Instruction (EARLI) in Cyprus, the American Psychological Association in Toronto, the British Psychological Society Conference in the UK. They remain active in the media (e.g., ABC Radio National Life Matters; Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Telegraph) and writing for professional and lay outlets.
