How to Apply

Please read the information below as well as our Frequently Asked Questions prior to applying for a place on our GERRIC student programs.

Helpful Hints

  • If you are applying for a scholarship based on financial hardship, please see our Scholarships page and submit the additional application and supporting documents in an email to Please note that scholarship applications will only be accepted by email until the 9th June. Unfortunately after this date, regardless of situation, all scholarship funds will have been exhausted.

  • Your tickets will be reserved for 30 minutes in the Eventbrite portal during the registration process. Payment via Eventbrite is made by credit card at the time of registration.

  • You are only required to supply supporting selection criteria documentation (e.g. test results) if applying for a scholarship or if requested by GERRIC.

  • A new program application and payment is required for each student program that is offered in the year (i.e. January and July). We do not have the capacity to copy details from previous programs. This also applies for scholarship applications.

  • We will ONLY accept online applications for the January student program.

  • Workshops will only run if sufficient numbers of enrolments are received.

  • Set a reminder for the 17th June, 7am to register

  • Before you register make sure you have the following handy:
    • Personal details (email address, phone numbers, address)
    • Child’s details (name, gender, date of birth, year at school, school)
    • Proof of qualifying criteria (this is not required for the application process, however GERRIC reserves the right to request this information at any point)
    • Details of any disability the child may have
    • Any Asthma/Anaphylaxis plans
    • Details of any medications we should know about
    • The name and contact details of any adults other than yourself who will be picking up your child or dropping them off at any point in the programs

Application Procedure

1. Head to at 7am on Monday 17th June, 2019.

2. Select the “TICKETS” button

3. From the list, select the workshop you would like your child/ren to attend. You can register more than one child at one time. Just select a quantity of 1 ticket for each separate workshop. Make sure you have selected the CORRECT WORKSHOP for the ticket. NOTE: we do not provide full refunds for change of mind, please know what workshops your child is interested in PRIOR to registration.

4. Select the “CHECKOUT” button

5. Fill in your and your child’s information as required.

6. Please ensure you detail any special requirements, and email Anaphylaxis or Asthma management plans with a colour photo, the student’s name and the workshop they will be attending to, if applicable. Attendance without such a plan is not permitted.

7. Parent/guardians MUST agree to the Terms, Conditions & Refund Policy. GERRIC assumes that you have read, understood and will adhere to our Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy – so please read it carefully.

8. Select “COMPLETE REGISTRATION” and you will be taken to a confirmation page.

9. You will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite, if you do not receive this email please contact us ASAP, you may have provided an incorrect email. It is very important we have the correct email address.

10. You will receive more detailed course information, including any pre-readings and specific locations in an email closer to the programs.

Your place in the program is not guaranteed until payment is received.

Waitlist Procedure

If the workshop your child wants is full:

1. Refresh the page.

2. Check if there are any other workshops they would like to do. This is the safest way to secure a place.

3. Sign up for the waitlist for the workshop via the link in the original event description.

4. You will receive an email confirmation, if you do not please contact This is important, it tells us that the details have been entered incorrectly.

5. If a place is made available in the workshop your child has signed up to the waitlist for, we will contact you immediately for payment.

6. If you do not hear from us, unfortunately no additional spots are available.
